Marina debuts three Verdi roles in her 2017/2018 season

In her recently announced 2017/2018 season, Marina Rebeka will debut in three Verdi roles. She begins in Munich, where she performs the title role in Luisa Miller with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.  As an Artist-in-Residence with the orchestra, Ms. Rebeka looks forward to continuing her creative relationship with this organization.  The opera will be performed in concert on September 24, 2017 at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, and captured for a later recording release. Following performances in New York (Norma title role), Chicago (Leïla in Les Pêcheurs de Perles), Paris (Violetta in La Traviata), Munich (Gala Concert) and Monte Carlo (Marguerite in Faust), Ms. Rebeka makes her second Verdi role debut in Simon Boccanegra at the Wiener Staatsoper on May 6, 2018.  Ms. Rebeka once again shares the stage with Thomas Hampson, in the title role of Simon Boccanegra, after having sung together in Hanover in 2016 in Verdi’s La Traviata.  Francesco Meli sings Gabriele Adorno, and Dmitry Belosselskiy sings Fiesco.  Her season of Verdi highlights concludes with a concert version of Giovanna d’Arco in Dortmund, Germany, on May 27, 2018.  Ms. Rebeka sings the title role in this concert performance with the WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, conducted by Daniele Callegari.
