Marina Rebeka returns to Salzburg Festival to star as Amelia Grimaldi in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, a role she debuted at Wiener Staatsoper in May 2016. She previously appeared at the Festival in 2016 as Massenet’s Thaïs and in 2009 as Anaï in Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon. The stellar cast includes Luca Salsi, René Pape, Charles Castronovo, André Heyboer, and Antonio Di Matteo. The production will be directed by Andreas Kriegenburg and conducted by Valery Gergiev. Performances will take place on August 15, 18, 20, 24, 27, and 29.
