Marina Rebeka named Münchner Rundfunkorchester 2017/18 Artist-in-Residence

The Münchner Rundfunkorchester has announced today that Marina Rebeka will be the orchestra’s first-ever Artist-in-Residence, for the 2017/18 season. Ms. Rebeka is collaborating with the ensemble on an album of Rossini arias (released on BR-KLASSIK in autumn 2017) and a series of unique programmes throughout the season. She makes her debut in the title role of Verdi’s Luisa Miller in concert on September 24, which receives a radio broadcast and will be captured for a future album release. On December 31  she is the featured soloist in the Rundfunkorchester’s New Year’s Eve Concert under the direction of Chief Conductor Ivan Repušic, which will receive a television broadcast. Her final programme of the season is titled “Vive lʼopéra” – hosted on April 11 – singing arias from Roméo et Juliette, Carmen, Manon, and more.
