‘Norma’ at The Metropolitan Opera

Marina Rebeka sings the iconic title role in Bellini’s Norma on October 16 & 20 at The Metropolitan Opera. Although these performances mark her first time singing Norma in the United States, she has already created a stunning portrayal of the Druid priestess in her role debut in Trieste, and in concert in her home country of Latvia: “She looked and sounded in fine form, a strikingly regal heroine who throughout bore herself with true dramatic and musical authority.” (Opera Magazine) The Met’s production is new to the stage this season, directed by Sir David McVicar with musical direction by Carlo Rizzi.
