Verdi’s “La Traviata” is one of the most known operas in the world. A sad story of courtizan Violetta Valery who sacrifies her love for the wellbeing of her beloved Alfredo has touched hearts of listeners since it was created.
This production of “La Traviata” was put on stage in front of the summery town hall in the Maschpark Hannover, Germany. 2,000 people sat spellbound in the stands in front of the stage – and 20,000 more let themselves be carried away by the open-air opera at the public viewing in the Maschpark. Now this atmosphere and the brilliant world-class performance can be experienced again on this DVD.
