Making her stage debut in the role, Marina Rebeka sings the title character in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda this spring at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Ms. Rebeka stars in a new co-production (with Teatro di San Carlo) of the piece on March 22, 24, 26 and April 1, with a cast that also includes Carmela Remigio as Elisabetta, Paolo Fanale as Roberto, Carlo Cigni as Giorgio Talbot, and Alessandro Luongo as Lord Cecil. Paolo Arrivabeni conducts all performances, which feature a staging by Andrea De Rosa, with sets by Sergio Tramonti and costumes designed by Ursula Patzak.
